Most Denver small businesses pay between $250 and $2,500 a month for SEO, depending on how competitive their trade is and how much work is included. One-time audits usually cost a few hundred dollars. Large multi-location campaigns cost more.
This guide explains what moves the price, what you should get at each level, and how to spot a quote that is too cheap or too expensive. We are a Denver SEO company with public prices, so we will show ours too.
The short answer
| Type of SEO work | Typical Denver price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| One-time SEO or Google Business Profile audit | $300–$1,500 once | Finding what is broken before you commit |
| Local SEO retainer (Maps + website basics) | $250–$1,000 per month | One-location service businesses |
| Full local + website SEO | $1,000–$2,500 per month | Competitive trades: roofing, law, dental, HVAC |
| Multi-location or enterprise SEO | $2,500+ per month | 5+ locations or national brands |
These are typical ranges, not fixed rates. Ask any agency to explain exactly what sits inside its monthly fee.
What makes SEO cost more or less
- Your industry. A Denver personal injury lawyer competes with firms that spend heavily on SEO. A dog groomer in Arvada does not. More competition means more content, more links and more time.
- How many locations you have. Each location needs its own Google Business Profile, listings, reviews and often its own page.
- The state of your website. A slow site with broken pages needs technical fixes before anything else works.
- What is included. Some plans cover only your Google Business Profile. Others include content, links, call tracking and reporting.
- Who does the work. A senior specialist costs more than an offshore content mill. The cheapest option often produces work you later pay to undo.
What you should get for your money
Every plan, at any price, should include:
- A clear list of tasks done each month, in plain English
- Rankings tracked for keywords you actually care about, in your service area
- Google Business Profile updates: posts, photos, services and replies to reviews
- A named person you can contact
At higher price levels you should also see new pages written for your services and cities, technical fixes, link building from real local sites, and call or lead tracking.
Warning signs in an SEO quote
- Guaranteed #1 rankings. No one controls Google. A guarantee usually means tricks that get sites penalized.
- Long contracts with no exit. Good SEO keeps clients by results, not by a 12-month lock-in.
- No access to your own accounts. You should own your Google Business Profile, Search Console and website.
- Reports full of jargon but no calls or leads. Ask what changed for your business, not just your "domain authority".
How long before SEO pays for itself
Google Business Profile improvements often show within a few weeks. Website rankings usually build over three to six months. Plan your budget so you can keep going for at least six months before judging results.
One extra job a month often covers the cost of local SEO for a roofer, plumber or dentist. Work out what one new customer is worth to you before comparing prices.

FAQ
Is SEO worth it for a small business in Denver?
Yes, for most local service businesses. People search for services "near me" and pick from the top results on Google Maps. Being there brings calls without paying for every click.
Why are some SEO quotes under $100 a month?
Very cheap plans usually mean automated reports, no real work, or low-quality links. Ask for a list of monthly tasks before you sign.
Do I need a contract?
No. Month-to-month plans let you leave if results don't come. Ours have no contract and no setup fee.
Does SEO also help me show up in ChatGPT and AI answers?
Much of the same work helps: a strong Google Business Profile, reviews, consistent listings and clear service pages. AI assistants use those signals when they recommend local businesses.
